Pure craftsmanship, no child labour, low synthetics

We work with experienced and learned textile vendors and talented craftsmen who devote every day to creation and passion.
With our goal to provide sustainable clothing with minimum usage of synthetics we want to spread the awareness of ecologically sound clothing and sustain indigenous crafts. The fundamental values and inspiration for BLOSS are sprung from our love for nature, purity and the little gifts that make our day, like a smile or a blossoming flower. These values logically continue in the way we produce our products.

BLOCK PRINTING

As little children we have carved into half cut potatoes dipped in ink to print paper, or discovered the beautiful insides of a pomegranate and had the want to recreate such a surface.

Block printing is an ancient form of textile printing, where precise wood cut impressions are used to form repeats to print fabric.

Just like two natural and organic objects are never alike, each impression of a wood cut block has a different intensity, it thus has a therapeutic nature.

The irregularity of the block printed patterns exposes the effort and patience of the printer, where little offset mistakes create a textile that comes to life and is absolutely unique.

Our customised design blocks are locally made and printed by artisans and craftsmen of New Delhi & Noida.

HANDLOOMING

Contrary to the modern day power loom machines, in retrospect, the handloom was a primal tool to make cloth.

This craft is dying in most parts of the world due to erratic lead times of production and the irregular nature of its cloth produce.

We work with the finest craftsmen to offer quality cloth and strive to make uncomplicated innovations on the loom.

The end purpose of our handloom initiative is to support the weaver in his modest livelihood and create awareness of hand made cloth.

See below: our seasonal handloom towel.

HANDLOOM TOWEL

We are currently doing simple space dyed weaves in thicker organic cotton which makes for highly absorbent towels.

The yarns are hand spun, tied at irregular intervals and dyed before they are set on the warp.

The borders are run with lurex yarns.

These towels are eco friendly & sustainable commodities.

Discover our SPA section under the LIVING page to see more colours of our handloom towels.

About us

Vishvajeet, born and raised in India, & Maaike, of Belgian and Dutch origin, met each other in the beginning of their careers while working in a designstudio in Italy.
Together with their two children, they now are working and living between Antwerp and Delhi.

Vish and Maaike share a common love for silence, nature, primitive cultures and crafts.

Over the years, the urge grew to create something calm, long lasting and beautiful.

BLOSS was born... a mode to discover the essence of purity and celebrate the perfect-imperfections inspired by nature and travel.

The drive behind BLOSS is to create sustainable clothing & home textiles that create awareness of indigenous crafts and in turn add value to their customers lives, giving them a sense of well being.

BLOSS hopes to inspire others to think ecologically, and is perfect for mind travellers who enjoy mixing a relaxed lifestyle with a luxurious taste!
